Lowell Dean Molt Sr., 92, of Mt. Pulaski, passed away February 4, 2025, at Country Lane Memory Care in Riverton, Illinois.
Cremation rites have been accorded by Holland Barry & Bennett funeral Home. A celebration of life will be held Monday, February 17, 2025, at 11 AM at St. John's Lutheran Church in Mt. Pulaski. Visitation will be from 10 AM until 11 AM with Masonic Rites performed before the service. Lunch will be served at noon at the American Legion in Mt. Pulaski.
Lowell was born March 1, 1932, in Lincoln, Il., the son of Leon Lowell Molt and Reva Bernadine (Scroggin). He married Shirley (Rogers) on June 17, 1951. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Lowell worked at Stetson China, Cotton Mechanical, and Lincoln Developmental Center. Most notably, he was a steamfitter for over 50 years and he was a commercial fisherman on the Mississippi River for over 25 years. He caught and cleaned 40,000 pounds of fish during his last year, at the age of 82. It has
